The temperature on the Moon varies between -233 degrees Celsius, on the part facing away from the Sun, and 123 Celsius on the side facing the Sun. Earth would have these massive differences in temperature too, but we have an atmosphere which traps heat, and keeps us at a most constant temperature 🙂

When the astronauts went to the moon, they had to wear special vests with cooling fluids circulating in them, as 123C is pretty hot. If they’d stayed there until night (days are about 14 earth days on the moon) then they would have needed heaters too!
