Super symmetry is a theory where all the known particles have a symmetric partner. This doubles the number of particles at a stroke and hopefully fixes a number of problems with the universe.
The new particles either name ending in -ino or an s- on the front. So we have the photino, the gluino, the higgsino, the selectron and so on.
One of these, the neutralino could be a dark matter particle.
The only trouble is, we’ve never seen any of them or even hints of them so far, so its still just an idea.
