The Moon is always there, we just can’t always see it. Sometimes it is high in our sky during our daytime so it is too light to see it (though you may often see it white on the blue sky in the early morning or at dusk), and sometimes it is on the other side of the world during our night time, so we cannot see it. However, because it orbits the Earth in a predictable way, we can calculate when it will “rise” and “set” for viewing from any particular location on Earth, and in which part/direction of the sky it will appear.
