Like any job, it can be frustrating, boring and stressful sometimes. But the hours are super flexible, I get to travel the world, and I am studying something incredibly interesting. So yes – I definitely enjoy it!
Yes – most of the time. Some days it can be stressful, some days a bit boring, but most of the time its very interesting. You do have to stretch your brain quite hard though!
Yes I love it! There are not many people who get to do there hobby for a living. I get to spend time investigating things that I think are really interesting. I also get to use some amazing telescopes and travel around the world.
There are days that I find it hard, or frustrating, especially when things are not going well, my investigations are not getting anywhere or computer code is not working properly. But this makes it more rewarding when you finally get things to work.
I love my job! It’s brilliant being a PhD student because you get to work with exciting new data from world class telescopes, travel a lot, and work with people who are also really passionate about astronomy. I like the challenge of having to learn new things all the time and solve problems.
