  Only if something extremely large came and crashed into it. The Moon is in a fairly stable orbit around the Earth. An interesting fact is that the Moon is actually getting a little bit further away from us all the time (1.5 inches per year). Energy is being transferred through what we call ‘tidal forces’ from the Earth to the Moon, so our days are getting longer too!
